Police reports state that on Wednesday, about 16:00 hours at Quamina Road, Beterverwaging, Maynard was with his daughter when he dropped off a customer in Beterverwagting.

He then proceeded south and was stopped by the suspect. The suspect entered the car and requested to be taken to the Railway Embankment.

Maynard continued driving and was in the process of turning around when the suspect whipped out a handgun and told the victim to stop the vehicle, hand over money and exit the car.

Maynard held on to the gun and the suspect shot him in his right upper thigh. The suspect took away the victim’s blu cellular phone valued $8,000 and demanded that he exit the car.

The victim once again held on to the suspect’s gun and he was shot twice, once to his left upper arm and once to his left wrist. The suspect then escaped.

The victim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by public-spirited citizens, where he was admitted a patient in a stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.
