Request from villagers for sports material and the upgrading of the community ground, resulted in subsequent delivery of pieces of equipment to the local basketball team. The request was made during a Government-led team meeting, on Monday, at the Buxton Community Centre.

The equipment was handed over by Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Charles Ramson Jr on behalf of the Government, i.e. the People of Guyana, and saw more promise of delivery within 30-minutes of a driving tractor, lawn mower and brush cutter. The donation in Buxton formed part of the wider programme undertaken by the Ministry to upgrade and maintain community grounds across the country, said a DPI story.
