Team Guyana Departs for 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia

Team Guyana is on its way to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 6th Edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which runs from November 7 to 21, 2025.

Leading the contingent are the nation’s Table Tennis and Swimming teams, with the Track and Field delegation scheduled to join in the coming days. The athletes will represent Guyana with pride, showcasing endurance, skill, and the unyielding spirit of the Golden Arrowhead on the international stage.

CHESS ATTRACTS OVER 50 YOUNG PEOPLE IN LEGUAN

Table Tennis (November 8–13):
Men’s Team:

  • Shemar Britton – Singles, Men’s Team, Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles

  • Elishaba Johnson – Singles, Men’s Team

  • Nigel Bryan – Singles, Men’s Team, Men’s Doubles

Women’s Team:

  • Chelsea Edghill – Singles, Women’s Team, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles

  • Jasmine Billingy – Singles, Women’s Team

  • Thuraia Thomas – Singles, Women’s Team, Women’s Doubles

Coaches: Mr. Linden Johnson & Mr. Joel Alleyne

Swimming (November 8, 9 & 11):

  • Delroy Tyrell – 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke

Coach: Mr. Ewin Enmore

The Athletics Team is expected to travel on November 13 to join the competition in Riyadh.

Team Guyana extended best wishes to all athletes and coaches as they proudly represent the nation at the Games. “We extend best wishes to all our athletes and coaches as they fly the Golden Arrowhead high in Riyadh!”
