In a statement, CANU said the illicit drug was intercepted at Eugene F. Correia International Airport on Wednesday morning.
It is alleged that the suspect – Pathrina Pilgrim – a 30-year-old woman from North Road, Bourda, Georgetown, posted the box, which contained 2 parcels of cocaine totaling 534 grams. However, a CANU officer, intercepted the box before it was loaded on a flight destined for Brooklyn, New York. The suspected cocaine was found in two parcels each wrapped in carbon and concealed in a false wall to the bottom of the said box.

“The box contained a quantity of packets of local snacks, notably: coconut biscuit, mittai, chicken foot and one packet of uncooked vermicelli,” CANU.

Pilgrim was subsequently arrested and remains in the custody of CANU. Several persons have since been contacted in the ensuing investigation.
