Acting on information received, a team of police officers went to George’s residence at around 10:00hrs on Monday, and there, they observed him lying on his step motionless with chop wounds about his body.
George was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“Enquiries revealed that the Police Sergeant was at his residence in Onderneeming doing environmental cleaning in and around his residence when he was approached by Patrick George who pulled a zinc sheet from a fence separating his residence from that of the one which the Sergeant was cleaning to gain access and in the process attacked the Sergeant with a cutlass and a piece of metal,” the Force said.

It added: “As a result, the Sergeant who was using a cutlass to groom his environment at the time, in retaliating, chopped Patrick George, who dropped his cutlass and the piece of metal and escaped through the said zinc fence.”

The Police Sergeant is currently under close arrest as the probe continues.
