A recent statement posted by Team Mohamed on Facebook has sharply criticised the government of Guyana, accusing it of neglecting the nation’s urgent needs while focusing on personal grievances and political distractions. The post takes aim at Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, questioning his priorities, accusing him of “neglecting his official responsibilities to this great Nation!”

During his press conference on Thursday, Jagdeo dedicated a significant portion of his time addressing Azruddin Mohamed’s presence in Barbados amid the ongoing feud with Nazar “Shell” Mohamed and Azruddin Mohamed.

According to the statement, the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) government’s handling of critical national issues has been disastrous, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, defense, and resource management. “The government is failing its people by squandering billions of dollars on corrupt deals, questionable business interests, and poorly executed infrastructure projects,” the post reads, pointing to the crumbling roads and bridges that were hastily constructed with little regard for long-term sustainability.

While infrastructure projects crumble, the statement stresses that Guyana faces a more pressing existential threat—its sovereignty. “The nation’s sovereignty is under direct threat from Venezuela,” the post notes, referencing escalating tensions between the two countries over territorial controversy. However, the post accuses Jagdeo of focusing on trivial matters instead of addressing this critical national security issue.

“Bharrat is studying Mohamed,” the post says, highlighting that the President’s attention seems diverted from the pressing concerns facing the country, particularly the border dispute with Venezuela.

The statement goes further to criticise the government’s response to the growing military tensions. It claims that citizens are left in the dark as reports of injured soldiers and military activity near the border go unaddressed. “Citizens are left in uncertainty—worried about what will happen if this situation escalates. The government remains silent to its people, failing to provide any real assurance,” Team Mohamed writes.

The post decries the lack of transparency from the government, arguing that the public deserves to know more about the country’s defense strategies and readiness, especially as tensions with Venezuela rise.

In addition to national security concerns, the statement slams the government for its mismanagement of Guyana’s burgeoning oil wealth. Rather than using the country’s oil revenues to improve critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, the statement claims the wealth is being funneled into the pockets of the elite, exacerbating inequality and hindering long-term development.

“The country’s oil wealth is being mismanaged,” it says, highlighting the widening gap between the privileged few and the general population.

The post also paints a bleak picture of the country’s economic future, warning that corruption at every level of government is draining resources that should be used to strengthen the economy and safeguard national security.

“Crime is rampant, the healthcare system in shambles, and the education sector continues to deteriorate,” the statement declares, adding that Guyana is on the brink of economic collapse, territorial loss, and long-term instability.

The statement draws a stark comparison between the government’s alleged priorities and the national issues that are being ignored. “This nation continues to suffer while Bharrat is solely focused on where Azruddin Mohamed is, what he is doing, who he is meeting with, what is he wearing, what is he driving,” Team Mohamed criticises, implying that the President’s fixation on personal matters is distracting him from his duties. The post sarcastically suggests that if the President had spent more time focusing on real national issues, he might have found solutions to Guyana’s problems.

The Facebook post ends with a call for change, declaring that Jagdeo has “outlived his usefulness to this country.” It urges the government to focus on what truly matters: the well-being and security of the people of Guyana.

Team Mohamed’s statement reflects growing discontent among many citizens who feel that the current administration is more interested in personal vendettas and political maneuvering than in addressing the real challenges facing the nation. With mounting concerns over infrastructure failures, economic mismanagement, and national security, the call for leadership that puts the country’s interests first has never been louder.

Mohamed… Mohamed… Mohamed… All Bharrat seems to focus on these days while neglecting his official responsibilities to this great Nation!
The government of Guyana is failing its people by squandering billions of dollars on corrupt deals, questionable business interests, and poorly executed infrastructure projects while they seem to ignore the country’s real issues. Roads and bridges are being built and some of those are already crumbling, while the nation’s sovereignty is under direct threat from Venezuela. BUT BHARRAT STUDYING MOHAMED.
No clear message is being sent to directly address the Guyanese people. Instead, we hear reports of soldiers being injured, surrounded by speculation, while videos of a Venezuelan military ship surfaces on social media. Citizens are left in uncertainty – worried about what will happen if this situation escalates. The government remains silent to its people, failing to provide any real assurance.
The government’s lack of transparency is unacceptable—citizens need to know where we stand, what is being done, and how we will defend our country if this threat becomes reality. Instead of investing in military preparedness and defense planning the government issues weak statements and acts as if the border dispute will resolve itself – if something is being done behind the scenes – should the nation not have a right to know. Citizens aren’t asking for state secrets—they just need reassurance that we are capable of defending our country. BUT BHARRAT STUDYING MOHAMED.
Meanwhile, the country’s oil wealth is being mismanaged, funneled into the pockets of a privileged few rather than used to develop industries that would create long-term stability. We take foreign loans with a trillion-dollar budget. Crime is rampant, the healthcare system in shambles, and the education sector continues to deteriorate. Corruption thrives at every level of government, draining resources that should be used to strengthen the economy, improve public services, and safeguard national security. If Guyana continues down this path it risks economic collapse, territorial loss, and long-term instability. We have seen these play out in other countries and it is very real.
The Chinese are taking over Guyana – the Venezuelans are ready to attack and invade Guyana. Weaponize the State against them – BUT BHARRAT STUDYING MOHAMED.
This nation continues to suffer while Bharrat is solely focused on where Azruddin Mohamed is, what he is doing, who he is meeting with, what is he wearing, what is he driving. Perhaps if he had invested that much time in Su he would have “found” him by now.
When you are in public office it is to serve the nation to the best of your ability. But you clearly have outlived your usefulness to this country.
