COOPER APPROVED AS REPLACEMENT FOR NATION IN WEST INDIES SQUAD

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 has approved Britney Cooper as a replacement for Chedean Nation in the West Indies squad.

Cooper, who has played 125 international matches including 76 T20Is, was named as a replacement player after Nation was ruled out due to a knee injury.

The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 consists of Chris Tetley (Chair, ICC Head of Events), Russell Adams (Tournament Director), Snehal Pradhan (ICC Women’s Cricket Manager), Mike Gajjar (Cricket South Africa representative), Ian Bishop and Lisa Sthalekar (both independent).

West Indies will play their third preliminary round match against Ireland Women at Newlands in Cape Town ion Friday. First ball is 7pm (1pm Eastern Caribbean Time/12 noon Jamaica Time).
