Critchlow Labour College, a cornerstone of worker education in Guyana, is currently engulfed in flames. The auditorium has been destroyed, and the Guyana Fire Service is working tirelessly to contain the spread of the blaze.

Founded in 1967 by the Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC), the college was established to serve as a hub for trade union and worker education. It has long been a symbol of the labour movement’s commitment to empowering workers with the knowledge and skills to advocate for their rights and contribute to national development.
