I could never sit silent in the face of attempt to tarnish Amna Ally’s legacy

Dear Editor,

Former General Secretary of the PNCR, former Minister of Government, former Member of Parliament Ms. Amna Ally has given most of her adult life to the service of the party built by Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham. At the time when I first gained membership of the PNCR she was serving in the capacity of Assistant General Secretary.

Her organisational skills, her leadership of staff and membership, her versatility of dealing with proponents and opponents of the Opposition were on full display from that time until she took a back seat in active politics.

To question her zeal and her commitment to the PNCR would be asinine. Few have her ferocity, her tact and her longevity even fewer still could match her contributions to the PNCR.

When the annals of the PNCR are recorded, she will be remembered as a stalwart of a comrade. Even though she and I have had our spats I could never sit silent in the face of an attempt to tarnish her legacy. She has worked tirelessly for the PNCR from her youth and her critics should be grateful that she served. As a matter of fact, the PNCR finds itself perched precariously in the absence of the wisdom of people like Cde. Amna Ally.

Cde. Ally, I have said to you that you are one of the mothers of the modern PNC, and I personally benefitted from your leadership and guidance. People like me wouldn’t let them forget you ever.

Thank you for your service at GECOM as the Party’s scrutineer
Thank you for your service at the local government level.
Thank you for your service at the national level.
Thank you for your service to the PNC we both once called home.

God richly bless you.

Yours truly,
Cde. James Bond
