Hard work delivered success at Caribbean Exams for Angel Perrez, aspiring surgeon

Aspiring surgeon 16-year-old Angel Perrez, a student at Chase’s Academy  wrote both Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) together this year. She copped 2 CSEC subjects, and 4 CAPE subjects. In the future, she aspires to be a surgeon.

“I studied for my CAPE and CSEC exams by working hard with my teachers in the  classroom and requesting more time as I was anxious about the exams,” Perrez said.

Perrez believes that if she had focused more, she could have performed better overall. Her primary reason for writing these subjects was to make her mother proud, also because those subjects were also crucial to her future career in the medical field.

Further she added, “To be honest, the difficulties I had throughout preparation were internal. I occasionally discovered that I can’t say that I’m totally lost on a subject. However, I overcame this by speaking up more during class.”

In her free time, she enjoys reading comics and going to the gym.

“Ask for help when they don’t understand something and to be honest about it. Ideally, you should also surround yourself with motivated people, such as teachers, family members, or fellow students,” is Angel’s advice to younger students.
