ExxonMobil Guyana has donated GY $32M to the Ministry of Health for the acquisition of 20,000 COVID-19 antigen testing kits as Guyana fights the deadly disease.
On Monday morning, President of ExxonMobil Guyana, Alistair Routledge presented the cheque to Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony at the Ministry’s Brickdam office.
In a subsequent release, it was noted that ExxonMobil Guyana has contributed over GY $75M over the past several months to organisations such as the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), Rotary Clubs of Guyana, Salvation Army and National Center for Education and Research Development (NCERD). The funds went to various projects that provided relief to those in need.
To date, Guyana has over 5,600 cases and 154 deaths. The Ministry of Health has welcomed all local and international support towards reducing the spread of the virus, increasing testing and tracing capacity and preventing a surge in the number of deaths.
