Moray House Trust warmly welcomes anyone with an interest in art, cricket or storytelling to visit an exhibition of cricket bats that have been transformed into works of art.
For the third year in a row, we have invited artists to paint or carve simple homemade cricket bats. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge. All items of artwork in the exhibition are for sale. Prices range between USD 100 and USD 600.
The exhibition runs from Saturday 5th September to Friday 11th September 2026 at Moray House Trust, 239 Camp & Quamina Streets, Georgetown. It will be open to the public from 11.00 AM to 3.00 PM daily including on Sunday 6th September.
Moray House Trust is an independent, self-funding non-profit set up over a decade ago to promote Guyanese culture and public discourse. The Gallery at Moray House, an occasional art gallery and exhibition space, is an extension of the Trust’s ongoing programme of cultural work.
This year the challenge issued to artists was to tell a story, to create a narrative on the bat. They were given three examples of Guyanese stories told via sculpture, song and poetry and encouraged to explore the possibilities of art as a narrative form, a means of communication. The public is warmly invited to come and view the results.
