Approximately 100 officers of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) benefited from a specialised financial readiness immersion designed to help them assess their current financial position, strengthen how they manage income and begin developing personalised five-year roadmaps towards greater financial security.

The session, “Designing My 5-Year Financial Security Roadmap,” was delivered by Outliers Zone Caribbean during the GPF Officers’ Personal and Professional Development Symposium on August 20, 2026, at the Police Officers’ Mess Hall, Eve Leary. The symposium was hosted by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in collaboration with the GPF under the theme,  ‘“Empowered Beyond the Badge: Advancing Leadership, Financial Resilience and Professional Excellence”

Mrs. Athalyah Yisrael, Co-Founder of Outliers Zone Caribbean and Architect of Operational Financial Readiness (OFR), opened the session with a question that immediately brought financial legacy into focus.

“If you received an inheritance that gave you a financial head start in life, have a seat.”

Approximately 99 per cent of the officers remained standing. Yisrael remained standing with them and asked, “Is that the legacy we want to pass on to our children?”

That moment framed a larger challenge: moving beyond simply earning and spending a salary to intentionally using today’s income to create financial security and a stronger financial starting point for the next generation.

Using Outliers Zone Caribbean’s Assess. Discover. Design. framework, officers assessed their current financial readiness through the organisation’s signature 7 F’s for a Financially Fulfilling Legacy Assessment. The assessment examines Faith, Fitness, Family, Finance, Fun and Fulfilment, Future, and Friends as interconnected components of a well-rounded officer and a financially fulfilling life.

Officers then explored their current financial identity through wealthy, middle-class and poor money mindsets and examined the behaviours influencing their financial outcomes. From there, they began designing their five-year financial security roadmaps, bringing together salary, skills, opportunities to increase income, savings and investment in income-producing assets.

Yisrael also introduced practical financial management systems that officers could begin applying immediately. Among them was the Money Increasing System, which teaches employees to give every dollar an assignment before it arrives across five areas: Tithe, Invest, Save, Donate and Spend. The system is designed to bring greater structure, discipline and intentionality to the management of income.

Officers were challenged to view income as future seeds rather than allowing it to flow entirely from salary to bills and consumption. The immersion explored investing in self and financial education, increasing earning capacity, building savings and progressively acquiring assets capable of appreciating in value or generating additional income.

Recognising the unique responsibilities and restrictions associated with police service, Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken, who was present during the session, was invited by Yisrael to provide clarity on investment and income-generating considerations for ranks. The discussion reinforced the importance of officers pursuing financial growth within the legal and professional framework governing their service.

“Financial readiness for ranks within the disciplined services is not simply a personal benefit. It is a national stability strategy,” Yisrael said.

“Salary increases are important, but without a system for managing, preserving and growing income, financial vulnerability can remain. Our goal is to partner with the leadership of the Guyana Police Force to help ranks convert today’s income into tomorrow’s financial security.”

As the next step, Outliers Zone Caribbean is proposing its 12-month Operational Financial Readiness Licensing Solution for the GPF, moving beyond a one-time financial session towards a structured and measurable institutional system designed to identify financial readiness gaps, equip ranks with practical tools and measure progress over time.

The proposed process would begin with a Financial Readiness Audit of 200 ranks to identify the financial behaviours, pressures and vulnerability indicators that may be contributing to operational risk. For the first time, leadership would receive an aggregated view of the key financial readiness indicators requiring attention, creating an evidence-based foundation from which a solution can be tailored to the specific realities of the Guyana Police Force.

Ranks would then gain access to Outliers Zone Caribbean’s mobile-friendly Financial Readiness Digital Hub, where they can access the financial readiness curriculum and progressively build their individual financial security systems from their mobile devices. The 12-month solution combines assessment, targeted education, practical implementation and ongoing measurement, creating a pathway from financial awareness to sustained behavioural change.

“Our vision is not simply to deliver a financial session and leave,” Yisrael said. “It is to give leadership a system to identify financial readiness gaps, give ranks practical tools to build financial security, and measure whether those gaps are actually closing over time.”

The GPF engagement follows Outliers Zone Caribbean’s work with the Guyana Prison Service, including its participation in the Caribbean Senior Corrections Officers’ Conference, and forms part of the organisation’s broader mission to advance Operational Financial Readiness across Guyana’s disciplined services. The organisation intends to continue advancing this work with the Guyana Fire Service and Guyana Defence Force.

Founded in 2018 by Athalyah and Gabriel Yisrael, Outliers Zone Caribbean is the Caribbean’s first Operational Financial Readiness institution focused on disciplined services and government agencies. The organisation has partnered with more than 43 organisations, trained over 3,575 employees and educated more than 14,000 children across Guyana, including through its annual Teach A Child to Save School Tour.
