In a powerful demonstration of sustained support for STEM education in Guyana, MODEC has renewed its backing of STEMGuyana’s Learning Pods initiative for the second year in a row, pledging a sum of Three Million, Five Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Guyana Dollars (GYD $3,565,000) .The Learning Pods program, founded and managed by STEMGuyana provides after-school education in Math, Science, English, and Technology to children across learning centres nationwide.
In 2025, MODEC’s sponsorship of two (2) Learning Pods in Regions 2 and 8, saw a total of fifty-nine (59) students engaged, with more than half being girls. Overall, the participating students saw a measurable improvement in their academic performance in Math and English. Feedback obtained from parents of the 2025 beneficiaries expressed gratitude for their children’s growth in confidence and clearer understanding of core concepts in Math and Science.
MODEC’s recommitment ensures that students in the Mainstay Lake Learning Pod (Region 2) and the Paramakatoi Learning Pod (Region 8) will continue to access high-quality learning resources, mentorship, and hands-on experience in STEM fields.
