The Guyana Independence Celebration Committee New York invites you to join us in celebrating Guyana’s Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Independence – sixty years of sovereignty, culture, and resilience. The commemorative events include a church service on Sunday May 31, 2026, a Grand Gala on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 7 P.M, at Da Mikelle Palazzo 69-02 Garfield Ave, Woodside, Queens, NY 11377 and the Guyana Independence Parade will be on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Brooklyn. 

Invited Guests of Honor include Hon. David Lammy, M.P, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Hon. Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Leader in the United States Congress; Hon. Charles Schumer, Minority Leader of the United States Senate, Hon. Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York, Hon. Zohran Mamdani, Mayor of New York City, Hon. Yvette Clarke, Member of Congress & Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus; Baroness Valerie Amos, former Leader of the UK House of Lords & current Master of the University College of Oxford; Hon. Yonette Cummings-Edwards, former Chancellor of the Judiciary of Guyana & Justice Designate – Turks and Caicos Islands, among others.
