Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) joins the family and friends of our Distillery Plant Manager, Jason Bhojedat, in mourning his passing.

Jason was a highly respected and valued member of the DDL family. He will be remembered for his dedication, professionalism, kindness, strong leadership, and the many meaningful contributions he made throughout his career. His loss is deeply felt by colleagues and all who had the privilege of working with him, both locally and internationally.

Jason joined DDL on January 10, 2014, as a Trainee Chemist. His commitment to excellence and continuous growth saw him advance to Production/Quality Control Chemist, then to Warehouse Manager, and ultimately to the role of Distillery Plant Manager, a position he held with distinction until his passing.

Reflecting on Jason’s passing, Chief Production Officer Shaun Caleb shared: “On behalf of the management team, I wish to express our profound sorrow at the tragic passing of our colleague, Jason Bhojedat. The news came as a tremendous shock to all of us, made even more devastating by the senseless and careless manner in which his life was taken. The entire DDL family has been deeply shaken, and words cannot fully capture the disbelief and sadness we are experiencing.”

Chairman of DDL, Komal Samaroo, added: “I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Jason. I can assure you that he will be remembered not only for his achievements, but also for the respect he earned from colleagues across the company. We are committed to honouring his memory and will be providing full support to our staff and his family, loved ones, and colleagues during this difficult time.”

The Board of Directors, Management, and staff of DDL extend our sincerest condolences to Jason’s bereaved family and loved ones. We honour his life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind.
