ST JOHN’S, Antigua — Cricket West Indies (CWI) is set to usher in a pivotal year for women’s cricket with the staging of the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup and the T20 Blaze in St Vincent and the Grenadines from January 10 to February 1, 2026.

The annual regional limited-overs competitions will feature teams from Barbados, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, hosts Windward Islands, defending T20 Blaze champions Guyana, and Super50 title holders Trinidad and Tobago. Together, the tournaments form an important early-season test as the West Indies Women prepare for a demanding calendar ahead.

The T20 Blaze will be played first, using a round-robin format followed by the finals, with all matches scheduled for the Arnos Vale Ground. Spectators can expect triple-headers each day, with games starting at 9:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the latter under lights.

Action will then shift to the Super50 Cup, which will be hosted across three venues — Sion Hill, Park Hill and Cumberland. Matches will begin daily at 9:30 a.m., with each team playing three fixtures. The competition winner will be determined by overall standings at the end of the round.

Guyana secured their first regional women’s title in last year’s T20 Blaze after completing the tournament unbeaten and edging Jamaica in a dramatic Super Over finish in the final. Earlier in 2025, Trinidad and Tobago captured the Super50 crown with a seven-wicket victory over Barbados in the championship match.

Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe underscored the significance of both tournaments as part of the region’s high-performance pathway.

“These tournaments are a critical starting point for what promises to be an extremely demanding and important year for women’s cricket in the Caribbean. The CG United Women’s Super50 Cup and the T20 Blaze provide the competitive intensity and performance benchmarks that are essential as we build towards a busy international schedule, featuring major bilateral series and the ICC T20 World Cup.”

“Strong regional competition remains the foundation of our high-performance pathway, and we expect these tournaments to once again highlight and produce players ready to perform at the international level.”

Following the regional competitions, the West Indies Women, known as the Maroon Warriors, will host Sri Lanka for a white-ball series in late February, before facing Australia in a full-format series in March. The team is also preparing for a packed summer that includes a tri-nation series against Ireland and Pakistan, as well as the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

All matches from the Super50 Cup and T20 Blaze will be streamed live on the Windies Cricket YouTube channel, with ball-by-ball updates and scorecards available through the Match Centre on www.windiescricket.com.
