Fellow Guyanese:

As we gather with our families and communities to celebrate the birth of Christ, I extend warm Christmas greetings to each and every one of you. Christmas is a sacred season – one that calls us to reflect on faith, compassion, sacrifice, and our responsibility to one another as a people.

This year, however, many Guyanese approach the season with heavy hearts. Across our country, families are facing real and persistent hardship. The rising cost of food, transportation, housing, and basic necessities has made it increasingly difficult for hardworking citizens to provide for their loved ones. For too many, the joy of Christmas is overshadowed by uncertainty and struggle.

Yet Christmas also reminds us that hope is born even in the most difficult circumstances. It teaches us that light can emerge from darkness, and that collective action, guided by principle and courage, can bring renewal. While our nation is blessed with immense natural wealth, it is clear that too many Guyanese are not sharing fairly in its benefits. This reality demands not despair, but resolve.

At this pivotal moment in our history, each of us has a role to play. Democracy is not a spectator sport. Holding the PPP/C regime accountable- peacefully, lawfully, and persistently – is not an act of hostility, but an act of patriotism. It is through vigilance, civic engagement, and moral clarity that we safeguard our future and ensure that government serves the people, not itself.

Let us use this Christmas season to recommit ourselves to truth, justice, and national unity. Let us care for our neighbours, uplift the vulnerable, and speak out for those whose voices are ignored. Above all, let us never surrender our hope that Guyana can be a country where prosperity is shared, promises are kept, and every citizen is treated with dignity.

May this Christmas bring peace to your homes, strength to your hearts, and renewed determination to build a fairer and more just Guyana for all.

May God bless you, and may God bless our beloved Guyana.
