Chairman of the ERC, Shaikh Moeenul Hack, along with fellow Commissioners Ms. Chandrowtie  Sarran, Mr. Deon Dick (Ras Khafra), Pandit Krishn Sharma, Reverend Rodwell Porter, the CEO Ms.  Gomin Camacho and staff visited several schools to personally distribute toys and interact with  students and teachers.

The distribution exercise covered the following schools, Region Five: Hopetown & Bushlot Nursery  Schools, Region Six: Leeds Nursery & Primary and No. 48 Primary School, Region One: Wauna  Nursery and Primary schools.

The effort is part of the ERC’s broader mandate to promote ethnic harmony and good relations among  all Guyanese. By reaching out to the younger generation during the Christmas season, the Commission  aims to instill values of sharing, caring and unity that the season brings.

The Commission recognizes that the joy of the holiday season is one that brings Guyanese closer  together and is shared by all, regardless of race or creed. The excitement on the faces of the children in  Hopetown, Bushlot, Leeds, and No. 48 Village today reinforces ERC’s commitment to connecting with  communities across Guyana.

The ERC is committed to ensuring that the spirit of giving reaches beyond the coastland. The  Commission has confirmed that additional toy distribution efforts are currently underway and  scheduled for the remainder of the festive season.

The Ethnic Relations Commission extends warm holiday greetings to all Guyanese and encourages  citizens to practice kindness and togetherness during this Christmas season.
