POLICY FORUM GUYANA OFFICE TARGETED FOR A THIRD TIME

Policy Forum Guyana (PFG) has confirmed that its office was once again tampered with on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025 at 10:25 a.m., marking the third incident in less than two weeks.

The first breach was discovered on Tuesday, 25th November 2025, followed by a second on Thursday, 27th November 2025. During this latest attempt, three windows along the side of the Coordinator’s office were found damaged. A piece of iron, believed to have been used in the attempt, was left outside.

Following the second incident, desks and key files were moved away from the windows, preventing access to documents this time. Only minor items were disturbed, and no equipment was taken.

Initially, the first vandalism was thought to be random — possibly the work of someone of unsound mind or simply an opportunistic intruder. However, three consecutive and targeted attempts, focusing solely on the PFG Coordinator’s office, now raise more serious and concerning questions about motive and intent.

The building is protected by MMC Security, and police investigators from the Albert Town Police Station are currently reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify those responsible.

These incidents come at a time when PFG has been publicly vocal on matters relating to the Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GYEITI), particularly regarding governance and transparency surrounding civic participation.

“While nothing was stolen today, the persistence and precision of these actions leave us deeply unsettled,” said the Coordinator of PFG. “What once appeared random now seems far more deliberate. Yet, Policy Forum Guyana remains firm in our commitment to transparency and accountability — and we will not be intimidated into silence.”

PFG will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement and provide updates as investigations progress.
