The Enmore Martyrs Deserve Honour, Not Historical Exaggeration

We are today per capita, the richest country in the world. Generations ago, the Republic of Cuba, under the leadership of His Excellency Fidel Castro Ruz, befriended Guyana in the vital area of human development, training doctors, medical personnel and others at no cost to the beneficiary and to Guyana.

Now that we are rich and Cuba is facing many challenges in the delivery of vital services, the only decent thing is for us to engage the Cuban authority post haste to offer assistance. This assistance can not be a contentious matter, nor one for political disagreement. Cuba’s assistance helped young Guyanese of every race, colour and creed, at a time when it was most needed.

Copying this to His Excellency to ensure that these prayers are answered.

Yours truly,

Hamilton Green

Elder
