A Guyana-based publishing and multimedia company is transforming the country’s literary landscape. Learning Tree Group, founded and led by publisher and creative strategist Dennis Adonis, has been helping both first-time and established writers in Guyana and the wider Caribbean diaspora turn their manuscripts into market-ready books.

From professional editing and design to ISBN support, Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) distribution, and local print coordination, the company offers end-to-end publishing solutions. It also produces promotional materials, such as banners, business cards, and video content—ensuring authors have the tools to succeed both in print and online.

“Our mission is to make professional publishing accessible and affordable for Guyanese creatives,” Adonis explained, noting the company’s commitment to fostering national pride in homegrown storytelling. Learning Tree’s impact is already visible, as more than 20 Guyanese authors have been published under its imprint, and many titles are now stocked in local bookstores and circulating internationally.

Among the standout successes is 13-year-old author Saniyah Shaw, whose debut Canvas of Strength sold over 500 copies locally and more than 1,000 copies in the United States, a feat rarely achieved by a Guyanese teenager.

Other published works include Three Little Friends by Renita Basdeo, Perspectives by Jermaine Joseph, Tides of Democracy by Bevian King, and Reflections: Heart of a Warrau by Eyon Boyal, alongside children’s titles, poetry, and political commentary.

The company’s efforts extend beyond publishing. Learning Tree Group regularly participates in national forums such as the GCCI Small Business Expo at the Arthur Chung Conference Center and runs pop-up book events in schools, malls, and community spaces. Partnerships with bookstores, including Success University Bookstore, have helped boost the visibility of local authors while paving the way for wider distribution.

For Adonis, the work is about more than books—it is about building a platform for Caribbean voices to be heard. “We want writers to publish with confidence and for readers to embrace the richness of our stories,” he said.

Adonis added, “I started Learning Tree Group because I saw a gap in publishing services in Guyana. Many writers had powerful stories but lacked the support to bring their books to life. My goal was to create a space where authors could find guidance, affordable publishing solutions, and international exposure for their work.”

“For aspiring authors, my advice is to believe in your story and write with confidence. Do not wait for the perfect moment, just begin and trust the process. For young entrepreneurs, stay consistent, be patient, and remember why you started. Success does not happen overnight, but with focus and persistence, you will see results,” is Adonis’s advice for youth.

With its expanding list of titles, community outreach, and publishing partnerships, Learning Tree Group is positioning itself as a key driver of Guyana’s creative economy, nurturing both the storytellers and the stories that shape national identity.
