Dear Editor,

As a citizen of Guyana and as a religious leader, I extend my congratulations to His Excellency President Irfaan Ali on his election success. The office of the Presidency is a solemn trust, and with it comes the responsibility to serve all Guyanese with fairness, dignity, and justice.

The sacred teachings of the world’s great faiths remind us that truth must always be the foundation of leadership. The Holy Quran describes truth as “an absolute reality, a divine attribute of Allah, and the ultimate principle that will always prevail over falsehood.” The Bhagavad Gita emphasizes that truthfulness is a core virtue, a fundamental aspect of dharma (righteous duty), and a path to prosperity and wisdom. The Bible too affirms that “God is the source and ultimate standard of all truth.”

Due recognition is extended to Mr. Azruddin Mohamed’s party, WIN, as the main opposition. Commendations are also in order for the leaders of APNU, FGM, AFC, and others for their participation in the 2025 General and Regional Elections.

In light of these timeless principles, I respectfully encourage the President to govern with truth, humility, and impartiality—never forgetting that leadership is service to the people, not a claim to kingship. The strength of our democracy lies in ensuring that every citizen, regardless of background or political affiliation, feels included in the vision of national progress.

As a member of the PNC/R, I reaffirm my commitment to working in the interest of our citizens and to holding the government accountable where necessary. At the same time, I wish you the very best in your service to Guyana, and I pray that God blesses you with wisdom, humility, and strength to lead our people faithfully.

May truth and peace always prevail in our land.

Yours truly,
Pt.Ubraj Narine, JP, COA
Former Staff Sgt.(GDF), Mayor
City of Georgetown
