Dear Editor,

Last Tuesday night, in the Lodge community, interestingly the PPP hosted a Public Meeting and presented their face with the likes of my friend, Bishop Juan Edghill, erstwhile colleagues James Bond, and Oneidge Walrond. Did I say face? The more appropriate word may be facade.

Speaker after speaker talked about magnificent things the PPP had done over the years. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating, With a super abundance of money from oil and gold, the Government has promised to end blackouts, so we have in place two Turkish ships costing us many US million dollars every day among other measures to end the stress and trauma of blackouts.

Today, the last day of July 2025, I was about a normal routine but at 11:25 hours, there was a Blackout in the Lodge area and moreso I am reliably informed that many parts of the City was without power I am dictating this letter one hour later and still no power from the Guyana Power & Light It is clear that the PPP Top Brass feels that they are powerful, and a well funded propaganda machine will prevail in a few weeks’ time.

Dear Editor, they say you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. As we enter Emancipation month 2025, let us raise our voices and pray, and work towards total liberation to see us free from the tentacles of an evil empire.

A thoughtful Emancipation 2025.

Yours truly,
Hamilton Green
Elder
