Shai Hope etched his name in the history books during the 3rd T20I between West Indies and Australia on Friday (July 25) in what was the first of two games between the sides in two days. The hosts were beaten by a margin of six wickets as they went 3-0 down in the series.
The thrilling clash at the Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts saw the hosts put up a huge total of 214 on the board. Hope was the star of the show with a knock of 102 in just 57 balls at a strike-rate of 178.95. The wicket-keeper put up a 125-run opening partnership with Brandon King, who made a 36-ball 62.
However, the knock ended in a defeat as a stunning 37-ball century from Tim David helped Australia seal a six-wicket win.

Shai Hope Creates History

Hope etched his name in the record books by becoming the first wicket-keeper captain to score a century in the shortest format. No stumper had made a ton while leading a side before from either a full member or an association nation in the shortest format of the game.Hope broke a record of the Netherlands batter Scott Edwards, who made a knock of 99 against Oman last year.
