WIN Campaign Denounces Racist Flyer

- Labels Act a Malicious Attempt to Derail Message of Unity

The political party, We Invest in Nationhood (WIN), has strongly denounced a racist campaign flyer being circulated online, which has been falsely attributed to its campaign. In a statement issued Sunday, the WIN team categorically rejected both the image and the offensive stereotypes it contains, calling the act a “malicious” and calculated effort to misrepresent the party’s values and derail its message of inclusion and transformation.

“The WIN campaign rejects this image and the racist tropes it promotes,” the statement said. “Our campaign is rooted in values which promote unity and respect for all races and would never indulge or promote such divisive, derogatory images.”

According to WIN, the flyer—which has surfaced just as the party intensifies its campaign messaging—runs counter to the core vision the movement represents. WIN said it is not surprised by the attempt, describing it as a desperate tactic meant to undermine a campaign that seeks to shift Guyana’s political culture away from ethnic division and systemic marginalisation. The offensive image below depicts impoverished Black children holding begging bowls.

“We are engaged in a campaign to bring fundamental change to Guyana,” the statement continued, “change that will move us collectively away from the division and marginalisation reserved for any ethnic groups in our beautiful country.”

WIN emphasised its commitment to “positive, enlightened citizenship” and denounced what it sees as the corrupt and racially charged practices of the current administration. Without naming a specific entity responsible for the flyer, the party pointed the finger at political forces intent on preserving the status quo and resisting genuine reform.

“They are not like us,” the statement declared, urging voters to reject divisive tactics and support a vision of governance grounded in equality, respect, and opportunity for all Guyanese.

WIN is positioning itself as a clear alternative to what it describes as “retrograde political behaviors” and “widespread corruption” associated with the PPP regime. The party has called on citizens to remain focused and united in the face of what it described as “trash” and distractions designed to derail progress.

“Vote WIN for change!” the statement concluded.
