In a call for national renewal, former People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) member and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member of Parliament Natasha Singh-Lewis has formally announced her support for the newly formed political party We Invest in Nationhood (WIN), led by businessman and presidential hopeful Azruddin Mohamed.

Citing decades of disappointment under Guyana’s traditional political duopoly, she described the emergence of WIN as a timely and necessary response to the cries of the marginalized and the aspirations of everyday citizens.

The announcement, made in a heartfelt public statement (seen below) marks a significant step in the party’s growing momentum ahead of the 2025 elections. Singh emphasised her commitment to WIN’s principles of equity, inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development, pledging to lend her voice and strength to what she called “a transformative journey for all Guyanese.”

See letter below by the former APNU Parliamentarian as posted on her social media page.

Dear Guyanese,

Today, as a nation we stand at a pivotal juncture in our history. In fact, we have journeyed fifty-nine (59) years with the intention of attaining political stability, national unity and social and economic advancement for all Guyanese. Instead, we have lived and experienced a Guyana primarily under two major political parties where the cries of the oppressed and marginalized have too often been silenced. It is with this reality that the Political Party -We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) emerged as the voice of the people.

After a careful study of the manifesto of WIN and a review of the team I have decided to add my voice and strength as a woman in politics to the Vision of Mr. Azruddin Mohamed as I believe that he leads a Party that rises as a beacon of hope, giving voice to the voiceless and power to the powerless. WIN’s vision is rooted in the belief that true democracy flourishes when every individual, regardless of their background, identity, or economic status, can actively participate in shaping their society.

My Brothers and Sisters, we are at a crossroad where we must make a choice to empower voices to transform our society for all Guyanese based on the core principles of equity and justice, inclusive representation, a culture of compassion and solidarity, civic engagement and grassroot mobilization and more importantly empowerment of the younger generation through Education and equal opportunity and ensuring sustainable communities.

The Leadership of We Invest in Nationhood stands as a testament to the resilience and strength of oppressed and marginalized people. I am one woman who yearns for justice, equity, and a more inclusive society as I join in a movement that is a transformative journey for all Guyanese. Together, we will build a future where every voice matters, every life is valued, and every person has the opportunity to thrive in their own community wherever they are in Guyana. Let us rise, united in purpose and action, to forge a Guyana where justice and dignity are not just ideals, but lived realities for all.

Natasha A. Singh
