Guyana Government’s Desperate Smear Campaign Exposed, US Lobbyists Weaponized Against Opposition Candidate

Leaked documents reveal PPP-paid foreign influencers pushing anti-Mohamed propaganda as Guyanese grow weary of Foreign interference

GEORGETOWN – Facing plummeting domestic support, the embattled PPP government has resorted to paying American lobbyists $50,000 monthly to manufacture international attacks against presidential hopeful Azruddin Mohamed, a move critics call both a violation of national sovereignty and a sign of the administration’s unraveling.

Explosive filings with the US Department of Justice prove Washington-based Continental Strategy LLC*has been scripting attack tweets for US Congressman Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), branding Mohamed a “Maduro puppet” at the direct request of Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The campaign backfired spectacularly as ordinary Guyanese increasingly dismiss such foreign-engineered smears, with many noting the hypocrisy of US officials meddling in local democracy while ignoring the PPP’s own corruption scandals.

The lobbying firm’s June 23 email to Rep. Gimenez’s office contained five pre-written tweets – all variations of the same baseless Venezuela fear mongering. Within hours, the congressman posted;

“In the U.S. Congress we are alarmed by the regime in Venezuela’s attempt to undermine #Guyana through its pro-Maduro puppet candidate Azruddin Mohamed…” a near verbatim recitation of the lobbyists’ draft. The coordinated attack mirrors the PPP’s failing domestic narrative, now outsourced to foreign actors after losing traction locally.

The scheme exposes the PPP’s dangerous reliance on foreign powers to suppress dissent, indeed, Venezuela fearmongering fails to resonate with voters more concerned about domestic corruption and rising food prices than Caracas.

With Mohamed’s WIN Party gaining ground with PPP supporters, in a an election projected to have no clear favorite, the PPP’s decision to aste state funds on foreign lobbyists, beg US politicians to attack their opponent and violate electoral integrity through international proxies…reveals an administration out of ideas and out of time. As the September 1 election approaches, one truth becomes undeniable, a government that needs foreigners to fight its battles has already lost the people.
