The West Indies Women have made notable gains in the latest ICC Women’s Rankings following their recent T20I and ODI series against South Africa, while South Africa opener Tazmin Brits climbed to career-best positions in both formats after a stellar tour in the Caribbean.

Brits, 34, is now ranked sixth in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings, which equals her career-best position, and she has also risen to a career-high 21st in the ODI Batting Rankings. Her impressive form included 132 runs in the three-match T20I series, headlined by an unbeaten 98 off 63 balls in the opening match, which earned her the Player of the Match award and helped her gain two spots.

She also cracked a match-winning century (101) in the final ODI to secure a 2-1 series victory for South Africa, and that propelled her six places up the ODI standings.

From a West Indies perspective, Captain Hayley Matthews continues her upward trajectory, as she earned a career-best 770 rating points in T20I batting and narrowed the gap on top-ranked Beth Mooney (794). Matthews was named Player of the Series for her all-round performance, as she scored 147 runs and took two wickets across the three T20Is.

Other ranking movers for the Caribbean side include Chinelle Henry, who rose three places to 86th in the T20I batting chart, and leg-spinner Afy Fletcher, who jumped three spots to 12th in the T20I Bowling Rankings after claiming five wickets.

In the bowling department, South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba moved to a joint-eighth position in the T20I Bowling Rankings after taking three wickets, while teammate Annerie Dercksen climbed eight places to 79th in the batting list.

The ODI Bowling Rankings also saw West Indies off-spinner Karishma Ramharack move up one place to 25th. There was also progress for South African bowlers, with Marizanne Kapp up two spots to seventh, Mlaba rising three places to 20th, and Masabata Klaas climbing six slots to joint-37th. Sportsmax
