Sherfane Rutherford hit 43 off 34 balls to help the Gujarat Titans chase down 204 and secure a seven-wicket win over the Delhi Capitals in TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) action at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The Capitals posted 203-8 from their 20 overs after being put in to bat by Giants captain Shubman  Gill.

It was a collective batting effort from the Capitals with captain Axar Patel (39), Ashutosh Sharma (37), Karun Nair (31), Tristan Stubbs (31) and KL Rahul (28) all getting starts and contributing to the strong total.

Pacer Prasidh Krishna picked up four wickets but was expensive, going for 41 in his four overs.

The Titans then reached 204-3 with four deliveries to spare to secure the win and move to the top of the standings on 10 points from their seven games, overtaking the Capitals thanks to a superior net run rate.

Jos Buttler was the star of the show with an unbeaten 97* off 54 balls including 11 fours and four sixes while Rutherford hit one four and three sixes in his knock.

Opener Sai Sudharsan had earlier made 36 off 21 balls.
