KUWAIT ranks sixth in the GULF  and 100th globally among the WORLD’S MOST INFLUENTIAL FINANCIAL CENTERS for 2025, according to Al Rai newspaper.

In the Arab world, Dubai ranked first and tenth Globally, followed by Abu Dhabi in second place and 20th Globally, then Doha in third at 68th Globally, Riyadh in fourth at 77th Globally, and Manama in fifth at 84th Globally.

For decades, global financial centers have played a crucial role in capital market activities. The International Financial Centers Index (IFCI) is a widely recognized benchmark for comparing the competitiveness of leading financial centers worldwide, published by the American magazine CEW World in collaboration with the CIO Policy Institute.

These financial centers share key characteristics, including infrastructure that supports billions of transactions and regulatory frameworks that promote market transparency.

According to a recent report by the American magazine, New York was ranked as the world’s most influential financial center for 2025, with Singapore and London taking second and third places, while Amsterdam and Hong Kong followed in fourth and fifth.

Zurich, Paris, Luxembourg, Tokyo, and Dubai were ranked sixth through tenth, respectively, in the latest International Financial Centers Index (IFCI).

The IFCI provides an accurate assessment of global financial centers’ competitiveness, based on data collected directly from a comprehensive questionnaire and over 50 reliable indicators, including sources such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World Bank, and the Economist Intelligence Unit. Compiled by the magazine, this trusted index ranks 115 financial centers worldwide, drawing on insights from thousands of financial services professionals and global bankers.

A FINANCIAL CENTER is defined as a city or region strategically positioned within the financial industry, concentrating various sector participants—including banks, trading firms, exchanges, and other insy and political environments, attractive tax policies, and ample opportunities that drive trade and business growth.

Photo: The EMIR the STATE of KUWAIT, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

ALL The VISIONARY EMIRS  of KUWAIT,  Ruling AL-SABAH Families, and Successive Governments are with incredibly significant roles in maintaining THE STRENGTH of THE KUWAITI DINAR (KWD).

KUWAIT’S ECONOMY , fueled by its VAST OIL RESERVES, which enabled THE EMIRS & TEAMS to implement PRUDENT FISCAL Strategic LONG- and SHORT-TERM POLICIES  with A JUDICIOUS BALANCE among INFRASTRUCTURAL, HUMAN and ECONOMIC Development.  The Strategic, Smart and WISE, CENTRAL BANK of KUWAIT’S decision TO PEG to the KWD to a WEIGHTED BASKET of CURRENCIES has helped maintain their KWD Value.

The VISIONSARY CURRENT EMIR’s WISE LEADERSHIP has also contributed to Kuwait’s ROBUST EXPORT ECONOMY,  LOW UNEMPLOYMENT, and STEADY ECONOMIC GROWTH. KUWAIT’s SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUND , worth over USD $700 BILLION, has further bolstered the KWD’s strength.

Notably, the Emir Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s CORONATION in 1980, was commemorated with a NEW SERIES of the KUWAIT CURRENCY. Today, KWD’s value remains high, with an exchange rate of 1 KWD to 3.25 USD.

The 10 BEST CITIES in the WORLD, according to Resonance Consultancy.

RESONANCE Consultancy, a Canadian TOURISM and REAL ESTATE advisory, also publishes a list of the CITIES it deems the absolute BEST EVERY YEAR, and these 10 HUBS are bossing their way into 2025.

  1. London
  2. New York
  3. Paris
  4. Tokyo
  5. Singapore
  6. Rome
  7. Madrid
  8. Barcelona
  9. Berlin
  10. Sydney

Resonance Consultancy’s RANKING is determined by some extremely thorough analysis of the major cities in regions with populations of 1 MILLION or MORE, across three broad categories.

They are ‘livability’ (which includes stuff like air quality, rent prices, green spaces), ‘lovability’ (nightlife, restaurants, social media engagement), and ‘prosperity’ (rates of unemployment, educational attainment, GDP per capita).

For the TENTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR… YES….THE TENTH – it was LONDON . The UK capital was lauded by the report for its ‘resilient spirit and unmatched global appeal’ to ‘students, foreign investors, tourists, and business leaders,’ topping the ranks specifically for nightlife and airport connectivity.

NEW YORK overtook PARIS this year to claim second place, and the city’s tourism which has bounced back since the pandemic, and improvements to its transport infrastructure such as the 17-track expansion at Penn station have been credited with that.

PARIS is still in third place, though, ranking (unsurprisingly) first for sights and landmarks, and second for shopping. There are also hopes the city’s ‘Plan Velo,’ a proposal to make Paris more cyclist friendly, will improve its ‘livability’ in the next few years – after all, the city is banning some cars in these central neighborhoods.

COUNTRIES’ POLITICAL PARTIES must PAY ATTENTION to AI campaigning because it has become a GAME-CHANGER in MODERN ELECTIONS.

AI-generated media, such as DEEPFAKES, can spread DISINFORMATION and MANIPULATE PUBLIC OPINION,  posing SIGNIFICANT THREATS to DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES.

AI-driven microtargeting allows campaigns to tailor messages to specific voter groups, increasing their influence. The use of AI in campaigning is NO LONGER OPTIONAL, and PARTIES THAT FAIL TO USE, AI, RISK BEING LEFT BEHIND.

THE STAKES ARE HIGH, as evidenced by recent elections where AI-generated content played a significant role in the ROMANIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS, an ultra-nationalist candidate leveraged TikTok to reach a MASSIVE AUDIENCE, leading to the ELECTION’s ANNULMENT due to FOREIGN INTERFERENCE. To stay ahead, parties must understand AI’s capabilities and limitations, ensuring they HARNESS its POWER RESPONSIBLY, FAIRLY and ETHICALLY.

An Effective AI campaign requires a nuanced approach, balancing the benefits of technology with the need for transparency, accountability, and regulation. Governments, Opposition Parties, Trade Unions, Businesses Chambers of Commerce, and Civil Society MUST WORK TOGETHER to establish clear guidelines and safeguards, protecting the integrity of democratic processes while allowing for innovative campaigning strategies.

13 KEY AREAS for AI in Political Campaigns

HUGE CHALLENGES for ELECTIONS CAMPAIGNS’ MANAGERS and TEAMS, cognizant of SWOT ( Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).

  2. 2.    Predictive Analytics: AI analyzes past voting trends, demographics, and other data to predict how voters might behave, allowing campaigns to focus on the most important voters and regions.
  3. 3.    Chatbots and Virtual Assistants: AI-powered chatbots can interact with voters 24/7, answering questions and helping with voter registration or campaign event schedules.
    4.    Personalized Content Creation: AI can customize emails, ads, and social media posts based on each voter’s profile, increasing engagement.
    5.   Fighting Misinformation: AI can help spot and fight false information online, ensuring voters receive accurate facts.
    6.   Social Media Management: AI tools track voter sentiment on social media platforms, providing real-time feedback on public opinion.
    7.   Voter Behavior Analysis: AI analyzes voter data to identify patterns and trends, helping campaigns understand voter behavior and preferences.
    8.    Sentiment Analysis: AI analyzes social media posts, comments, and articles to gauge public sentiment about a candidate, issue, or campaign, helping campaigns adjust their messaging.
    9.    Donor Segmentation: AI helps campaigns segment donors based on their giving history, interests, and other factors, ensuring personalized fundraising appeals.
    10.    Volunteer Management: AI-powered tools optimize volunteer scheduling, outreach, and engagement, helping campaigns make the most of their volunteer base.
    11.   Debate and Speech Analysis: AI analyzes debate performances, speeches, and interviews to identify key moments, sentiment, and policy positions, providing valuable insights for campaigns.
    12.   Fake News Detection: AI-powered tools help identify and flag fake news articles, social media posts, and other online content, protecting voters from misinformation.
    13.   Election Day Operations: AI optimizes get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts, polling station management, and election day logistics, helping campaigns ensure a smooth voting process.
