Police arrest woman following viral child abuse video

In response to distressing video footage circulating on social media depicting a woman abusing a child, the Guyana Police Force acted swiftly to address the situation.

At approximately 11:30am today, officers, accompanied by the Director of the Child Care and Protection Agency (CCPA), visited West Bank Demerara. There, they arrested a 27-year-old self-employed woman seen in the video abusing her son.

The suspect was escorted to the Wales Police Station, where she was interviewed by both CCPA officials and police personnel. Following the interviews, she was placed into custody.

The child, identified as her son, was subsequently handed over to his paternal grandmother.

Authorities are continuing their investigations into the incident. (Caribbean Loop)
