The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has officially commenced its Continuous Registration cycle, which will take place at all Registration Offices across the country. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that all eligible citizens are registered and can participate in future electoral processes.

The Continuous Registration cycle is open to any individual who will be 14 years old or older by June 30, 2025. Eligible persons must be Guyanese citizens by birth, descent, or naturalisation, or Commonwealth citizens residing in Guyana for one year or more.

During this registration period, GECOM is offering more than just initial registration. Individuals who are already registered can also apply for various services, including updating their personal details, transferring addresses, and requesting replacement identification cards. These services are particularly important for those who have experienced changes in their circumstances, such as moving residences or requiring new identification due to damage or loss of their original cards.

The Continuous Registration process is an essential exercise. GECOM has urged all eligible citizens, especially those who are newly eligible or have experienced changes in their personal information, to take advantage of this opportunity.

Registration can be done at any of GECOM’s Registration Offices located across the country. Citizens are encouraged to visit their local offices to ensure they are properly registered or to make necessary updates to their records.

For more information on the Continuous Registration process, including office locations and required documentation, individuals are advised to contact GECOM or visit their official website.
