(Occupy Democrats)-MAGA [Make America Great Again] world is stunned as Fox News’s Senior White House Correspondent publicly slams the Trump administration for its shocking decision to seize control of the press pool.

This is a bridge too far for even the right-wing network…

“This move does not give the power back to the people – it gives power to the White House. The WHCA [White House Correspondents Association] is democratically elected by the full-time White House press corps,” Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich wrote on X.

“WHCA has determined pools for decades because only representatives FROM our outlets can determine resources all those outlets have – such as staffing – in order to get the President’s message out to the largest possible audience, no matter the day or hour,” she added.

Her posts came in response to a tweet from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in which she announced the change to the press pool and falsely claimed that it’s about “giving the power back to the people.”

In reality, it’s about seizing even more control for Donald Trump and weakening the free press. Going forward, Trump’s White House Press Team will choose which reporters are in the press pool — meaning that they will choose friendly reporters willing to amplify their fascist propaganda.

Leavitt said that outlets “that have long been denied” access to the pool will be allowed in. One can only imagine what deranged conspiracy theorists they’ll drag out of the online right-wing swamp to push their messaging.

The New York Times’ White House bureau chief Peter Baker slammed the new system, saying that it “amounts to a signal to news outlets to follow the White House line or risk being kicked out as well.”

Previously, an independent group of journalists known as the White House Correspondents’ Association was responsible for choosing the press pool. It assured that the coverage was fair and neutral, rather than simply a mouthpiece for the current administration.

Now, those days are over. Our democracy is crumbling before our very eyes and Republican politicians remain completely silent.
