Dr. Stair’s tenure as Custos began on May 7, 2009, when he was installed at Lucea’s Jockey International factory. The ceremony marked a historic moment as it was among the first official duties performed by then-newly appointed Governor-General Dr. Patrick Allen, who had assumed office as Head of State just months earlier on February 26, 2009.

Taking the mantle from former Custos Mrs. Mavis King, CD, who stepped down due to health concerns, Dr. Stair embodied the dignity of his office while maintaining his medical practice at Sandy Bay Health Centre.

His dual service as both a healer and guardian of civic tradition reflected a deep commitment to his community, making his unexpected passing all the more poignant for the parish he served faithfully.
