Beaton charged with murder of Toshao

The Guyana Police Force in a statement said 24-year-old Noah Beaton turned himself in at the Brickdam Police Station on Tuesday in connection with the killing of 37-year-old Toshao, Ridley Joseph.

Monday the Joseph was found dead in his room at the Signature Inn in Queenstown, Georgetown. At the time of his death, he and other Toshaos, were in Georgetown attending a meeting. He reportedly had 19 stab wounds to the body.

The police said during questioning, Beaton, a resident of Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, confessed to the killing after investigators presented him with evidence.

According to police, the suspect claimed the victim was known to him and alleged past sexual abuse as a motive for the crime.
