At just 30 years old, Rayan Sattaur’s life is a testament to resilience, reinvention, and the boundless love of a father. Born and raised in Bartica (Region 7), Rayan now resides in Georgetown, where he works as a survival instructor for 3t Enermech. His role entails training individuals in the oil and gas sector to handle emergencies and stay safe—a skill informed by years of offshore experience.

In 2022, Rayan’s life changed forever as he became a father. The birth of his daughter, Athena, gave him a new perspective on life. “I wanted to be there for her first words, her first steps, and every milestone,” he shares.

This profound realisation led him to transition from offshore work to an onshore position, prioritising his family over a demanding lifestyle.

Inspired by his upbringing, where hard work and business acumen were instilled early on by his late mother, Rayan ventured into the entrepreneurial world. A disappointing experience with poor-quality coconut water fueled his ambition to create a brand that offers affordable and top-quality products. And that’s how Athena Farms was born. However, the business is named after his daughter, representing his journey into fatherhood and business.

Rayan’s journey started small: He harvested coconuts from family trees and sold just 20 bottles a week. Through relentless dedication, Athena Farms now produces over 5,000 bottles of coconut water and 3,000 bottles of juice monthly. “It’s not just about the money,” he explains. “It’s about creating a business with purpose—a legacy for Athena.”

Rayan believes in the power of dreams paired with hard work. “Find something you love, focus on it, and remember that consistency is key. Even little progress is better than none,” he advises aspiring entrepreneurs. “Money is a tool to enjoy life, not the goal itself.”

Rayan and his family

With his family by his side, Rayan continues to inspire others through his dedication to quality, family, and purpose. He shows that even the smallest seeds, when nurtured, can grow into something remarkable. Athena Farms was one of the sponsors of the Tee off for Charity event.
