At just 22 years old, Laswyn Zeria Grimmond has transformed her childhood fascination with makeup into a thriving career as a professional makeup artist. Her journey began at age 15 when her mother, inspired by a newfound interest in cosmetics, asked Laswyn to be her makeup muse.

After seeing her reflection in the mirror post-makeup application, a spark ignited within her: “I could do this—even better!” she thought, beginning her passion for makeup artistry.

While attending Wisburg Secondary School, in Wisroc, Linden,  Laswyn was determined to hone her craft. She began saving her lunch money to purchase her makeup products, driven by the belief that she could teach herself through practice and dedication.

As she experimented with various looks, her skills flourished, and so did her confidence. Soon enough, friends and acquaintances began requesting her services, prompting her to enrol in a professional makeup course to further develop her talents.

Eventually, Grimmond launched Zeria Blush Kiss in 2020.

One of her biggest challenges was getting clients. Many people criticised her, however she persevered amid her challenges.

Fast forward eight years, and Laswyn is now a successful makeup artist running her own business. “I am immensely grateful to God for guiding me on this journey,” she says. Her business offers makeup services for events, teaching classes, and selling beauty products.

Laswyn’s message to aspiring young dreamers is clear: “For those of us who dare to dream big,do know that success isn’t a walk in the park, it requires self-belief, courage, hard work, and sacrifice. You alone can bring your dreams to life through dedication and persistence.” She emphasises that with confidence and commitment, anything is achievable.”
