In the heart of Dibamba, Cameroon, a young and visionary entrepreneur named Boris Kamgo is revolutionizing the agro-processing industry with a massive pineapple farm and juice production facility. Kamgo, the founder of Agro World Group and owner of Agro Fresh, harvests over 1.5 million pineapples annually, which he transforms into 100% natural pineapple juice. His story of perseverance, innovation, and commitment to organic farming has made him a leading figure in Cameroon’s agricultural sector.

Kamgo’s journey began during a trip to Mexico, where he was inspired by the large-scale cultivation of pineapples and their transformation into juice. Eager to bring this knowledge back to his homeland, he paid for specialized training. Upon returning to Cameroon, Kamgo initially purchased pineapples from local farmers to produce juice, but he quickly noticed a problem—differences in cultivation methods and the use of chemical fertilizers affected the taste of the juice. Determined to control the quality of his product, Kamgo made a bold decision: he would cultivate his own pineapples, using 100% organic methods.

A Vision of Organic Farming and Sustainability

Today, Kamgo’s pineapple farm spans large hectares of Dibamba’s rich soil, producing over 100,000 pineapples a month. His commitment to organic farming means no chemical fertilizers are used; instead, he relies on cow dung and urine to enhance the soil and improve the water and vitamin content in his pineapples. This sustainable approach has not only allowed Kamgo to produce superior fruit but also to create a closed-loop system where nothing goes to waste.

Kamgo’s farm also includes a cow ranch that provides the organic manure for his crops, and in return, the cows are fed with the leftover pineapple peels. Additionally, he has explored innovative uses for his by-products, even learning how to brew beer from pineapple peels, further diversifying his agricultural outputs.

Diversifying with Bananas, Soursop, and Honey

In addition to his thriving pineapple operation, Kamgo has planted 2,000 soursop trees on his farm. While he doesn’t sell the soursop fruit, the leaves are dried and exported to be transformed into tea—a high-demand product known for its health benefits. Kamgo has also taken advantage of his farm’s biodiversity, planting bananas and other fruit trees, which not only provide additional income but also attract bees. The bees produce honey, adding yet another organic product to Kamgo’s impressive portfolio.

Kamgo’s innovative approach to agro-processing has not gone unnoticed. He has been honored by the Cameroonian government for his significant contributions to the country’s agriculture sector, particularly in the area of organic farming and sustainable practices. His success has become a source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs across the nation, showing that with vision, dedication, and a commitment to quality, it’s possible to build a thriving business that benefits both people and the planet.

Despite his success, Kamgo is vocal about his concerns for the African agro-processing industry. He questions why so many supermarkets in Africa carry pineapple juice produced in Europe when the pineapples themselves are exported from Africa. Kamgo’s passion for retaining the value of Africa’s agricultural products within the continent is a driving force behind his business, and he hopes to inspire others to invest in local production.

Kamgo’s story is one of innovation, sustainability, and a deep connection to the land. By building his own organic pineapple farm and juice factory, he is providing high-quality natural juice to the market and also setting a new standard for agriculture in Cameroon and beyond.

With every pineapple harvested and every bottle of juice produced, Boris Kamgo is proving that Africa’s agricultural potential is vast—and that its future is in the hands of entrepreneurs who are ready to lead with integrity, innovation, and sustainability.
