According to the release, the matter was reported to the police where the alleged perpetrator was held, and the case file is currently with the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

An appeal is being made to the public to cease propagating the child’s identity. CPA said under no circumstance should the child’s identity be compromised through pictures or any other details that may lead to the identity of the victim.

The ministry said the child continues to receive psychosocial and medical support.
