References to “Backflip” and “Lifeguard” Claims Proven Lies in Tragic Drowning Incident at Ministry’s Swim Program

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Charles Ramsen is still mum on the tragic death of 14yr old Joel Adams, a young orphan who participated in the learn to swim program, at his ministry’s poorly organized summer event.  Updated revelations about the tragic drowning of Joel Adams in the Ministry of Culture’s unsupervised swim program have exposed significant falsehoods. The child, living in an orphanage, was not discovered at the bottom of the pool until it was too late, contrary to initial reports.

Caregivers from the orphanage realized the child was missing during a head count after the swim session. Despite raising the alarm, the chaotic environment prevented immediate action, leading to a delayed search effort. Contrary to the initial rumors, the child did not perform a backflip into the water. This false narrative, along with the fabricated claim that a lifeguard witnessed the backflip and jumped in after the child, has been debunked.

The truth emerged when Paul Jnr, another child in the program, accidentally brushed against the victim and pulled him out of the pool. Speculations among the children about a backflip were falsely corroborated by a post-mortem report, which noted a broken spine and misleadingly supported the backflip story.

The continued silence of the minister on this matter is both shameful and concerning. The lack of supervision and proper safety measures in this program highlights severe negligence. We must advocate for justice for this child and ensure such tragedies do not recur.
