Caregivers from the orphanage realized the child was missing during a head count after the swim session. Despite raising the alarm, the chaotic environment prevented immediate action, leading to a delayed search effort. Contrary to the initial rumors, the child did not perform a backflip into the water. This false narrative, along with the fabricated claim that a lifeguard witnessed the backflip and jumped in after the child, has been debunked.
The truth emerged when Paul Jnr, another child in the program, accidentally brushed against the victim and pulled him out of the pool.
