New Board of Directors for Women in Energy Guyana

Women in Energy (WIE) Guyana announced its new Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term. At its Annual General Meeting held on June 30, 2024 the organisation elected:

Abbigale Loncke-Watson, re-elected President of MBW Energy Support Services Inc., reaffirming her leadership and commitment to advancing women in the energy sector.

Filisha Duke, Founder and CEO of Sure Gig Inc., joins the board as Vice Chairwoman, bringing her entrepreneurial spirit and vision to the organization.

Shanae Heber, Field Engineer at SLB, assumed the role of Secretary, leveraging technical expertise to support WIE’s administrative functions.

Alista Bishop, Corporate Director and Internal Auditor at Caribbean CAGE LLC., continues her role as Treasurer, ensuring financial stewardship and accountability.

Mowavia Williams, Typist Clerk at the Guyana Elections Commission and Student at the University of Guyana, has been elected as Membership Director, focusing on expanding WIE’s network and community engagement efforts.

Camille Deokie Gorakh, Founder and CEO of Camille’s Academy Inc., joins as Fundraising and Events Director, driving initiatives to support WIE’s mission through strategic events and fundraising activities.

Reflecting on the achievements of WIE, Abbigale Loncke-Watson expressed heartfelt gratitude to outgoing Board members Michelle A. Nicholas, Founder and CEO of The NICO Consulting, Inc., and Camille Boyle, Business Strategist/Investor at Executive Business Solutions. Their dedicated service and leadership in external affairs, governance, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, programme development, and operational oversight have been instrumental in shaping WIE’s success.

Loncke-Watson also encouraged members to continue advocating for diversity and inclusivity within the energy sector, emphasising the importance of collaboration and empowerment. Under her continued leadership, WIEG looks forward to pioneering new initiatives that promote gender equality and empower women to excel in every facet of the energy industry.
