Bonaire Human Rights Organisation is congratulating Curaçao on its achievement of Associated Member in the Caribbean Community(CARICOM). In a letter to the country’s Prime Minister and copied to the media, the Dutch human rights organisation which achieved associated membership in CARICOM Reparations Commission in 2023, expressed delight “CARICOM has accepted Curaçao into its fold, as we firmly believe that your participation will greatly enrich the community’s collective efforts towards justice and reparation, among other crucial initiatives.”

Curaçao is a Dutch speaking island in the Caribbean.

The organisation also noted as Associate Member Curaçao stands to benefit from enhanced opportunities for collaboration in areas such as trade, security, health, and education.

The milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the government and the people of Curaçao in aligning with CARICOM’s values and objectives, the group expressed. “It also reflects Curaçao’s growing influence and leadership within the Caribbean region.”
