BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) — Following the opening of online registration for the second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) to be held later this year, more than 90 Chinese and overseas companies have already signed letters of intent to exhibit at the event, according to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The council, also the event’s host, said that during the first phase of overseas roadshows, promotional activities for the second CISCE were recently held in countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Mauritius, Ethiopia, and Egypt.

It said it will continue to organize various promotional activities and invite both Chinese and foreign companies, as well as professional buyers, to attend the 2024 CISCE.

According to the host, the second CISCE will be held from Nov. 26 to 30 this year. Five major segments for the clean energy, smart automobile, digital technology, health and life, and green agriculture sectors will be set up, along with a supply chain services exhibition area. During the expo, special forums will be organized, while investment promotions, business matchmaking events and new product launches will also be held.

The CISCE is an open international platform that integrates the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors, connects small, medium and large enterprises, promotes collaboration between industry, academia and research, and facilitates interactions between Chinese and foreign enterprises.

More than 500 Chinese and international enterprises took part in the first CISCE that concluded on Dec. 2, 2023 in Beijing. More than 200 cooperation agreements and letters of intent were signed at the event to the tune of over 150 billion yuan (about 21 billion U.S. dollars), according to data from the expo’s website.  ■
