Come June 5 American Airlines will be doubling its daily flights between Miami and Guyana, with two daily nonstop flights. Guyana has the fastest-growing economy in the Western Hemisphere, the result of a massive oil discovery that has quickly turned the country into a global energy giant. In 2023 Cheddie Jagan International Airport reported processing more than 729,000 passengers.
