The Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative has announced the migration to its new website: www.eiti.gy

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a global standard to promote transparent and accountable management of natural resources. Guyana became an EITI implementing country in the year 2017 and as a result became obligated to disclose information about its extractive industry’s value chain. One method through which such disclosures are made is via an annual EITI country report. Guyana has since published annual reports for FY2017-FY2020 and will be publishing the fifth report for FY2021 on or before December 31, 2023.

The annual country reports are published on the Guyana EITI website for the public to access along with other pertinent information on our extractive sectors. Additionally, Guyana’s progress with meeting the EITI Standard is also published on this website. Hence, the Guyana EITI website is the central hub for information on its extractive sectors. Thus, it is vital that this website be of a high standard while also ensuring a user-friendly interface so that the public can access the information without difficulty.

The agency in a statement said it is on this premise that a new website for Guyana’s EITI was created.

The new website can be found at www.eiti.gy  and has several improvements which are outlined below:

  • Enhanced security
  • Improved aesthetics
  • Easier to navigate.
  • More user-friendly
  • Well organised content
  • Updated content
  • Improved formatting

The Ministry of Natural Resources under whose oversight EITI in Guyana falls provided technical assistance for the building of this new website which was done in full consultation with the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG), and the Guyana EITI Secretariat.

EITI encourages the public to make full use of this website so that they can edify themselves on Guyana’s extractive sectors. Please feel free to call the Guyana EITI Secretariat on 2312504 – 05 ext. 317 if you have questions or comments.
