As the reverential festival of Navratri took hold, former Mayor Pt. Ubraj Narine graciously undertook a spiritual journey, visiting multiple temples to honor the divine feminine energy and offer his prayers and well wishes to the local community. So said the former mayor in a release.

Navratri, a nine-night festival celebrated with great zeal and devotion, calls for spiritual observances and seeking blessings from different forms of Goddess Durga. Pt. Narine, known for his dedication towards promoting communal harmony and cultural understanding, embarked on this auspicious endeavor to pay homage to the divine and strengthen bonds within the community.

During his temple visits, the pandit was warmly welcomed by the devotees and joined them in various religious rituals. In interacting with the faithful Narine said he felt the spreading positivity and good vibes throughout.

Narine stated his primary objective during these visits was to meet with community members and listen to their concerns, ideas, and aspirations. With each temple visit, he engaged in meaningful conversations, discussing ways to enhance community services, promote cultural events, and foster unity amongst citizens from diverse backgrounds.

By embracing the core values of Navratri – unity, strength, and devotion -Narine said his aim is to inspire the community to come together, respect traditions, and celebrate diversity. “His presence at the temples offered a sense of solace, as he encouraged devotees to stand strong in the face of adversity, reminding everyone of the importance of faith and togetherness.”
According to the statement, Narine’s visit to temples during Navratri serves as another demonstration of his commitment to cultural inclusivity and interfaith harmony. “His efforts continue to bridge gaps and build strong foundations for a community that thrives on shared values, mutual respect, and prosperity.”
