The Chinese Embassy in Israel and its office in Palestine have issued emergency security reminders, maintained contact with Chinese citizens there and made every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions, China’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

The remarks were made by the ministry’s spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular press briefing in response to the situation of Chinese citizens in Israel and Palestine as the two sides had broken out a new round of conflict since October 7.

Mao said that the Ministry had immediately activated the consular emergency response mechanism and had coordinated protection work of Chinese citizens and institutions in Palestine and Israel.

“We also urge Chinese citizens not to travel to Palestine and Israel and call on Chinese citizens there to pay close attention to the local security situation, strengthen security precautions and avoid going out,” she said.(CGTN)
