In the world of STEM enthusiasts, there are shining stars who not only inspire with their brilliance but also blaze a trail of innovation wherever they go. Ariel Taylor started as a 12-year-old member of the Sports Hall STEM club where she honed her technology skills and developed a love for engineering. Ariel is also a longstanding member of Team Guyana Robotics and an ardent supporter of STEM education, and she has just added another incredible achievement to her impressive portfolio: she is one of the Captains of the Robotics team which will be representing Guyana at the First Global Robotics Challenge in Singapore in October of 2023.
Currently studying aeronautics at the Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School with aspirations of becoming an aeronautical engineer, Ariel’s commitment to her education is unwavering. She doesn’t stop at her own learning; she also leads the Saturday STEM club, where she generously volunteers her time to help young students with their math homework. Her passion for STEM education knows no bounds.
But Ariel’s journey doesn’t end there. She is set to lead Team Guyana on a global stage as part of the first all-girls robotics team, with an exciting trip to Singapore on the horizon. This incredible progression, from being a young club member at the age of 12 to representing Guyana at international competitions and now being part of the senior team, is a testament to her dedication and perseverance and to the new opportunities available to Guyana’s youth who are interested in technology.
Ariel Taylor is more than an individual success story; she is a credit to her nation, a beacon of inspiration for aspiring STEM enthusiasts, and a shining example of what dedication, passion, and a commitment to learning can achieve. As she embarks on this journey to a career in engineering, the world eagerly awaits the innovations she will bring to the table and the impact she will make in the world of STEM and beyond. Guyana has every reason to be proud of Ariel, and her journey is far from over.
