NO MORE ABSOLUTE POWER with OIL & GAS BLESSINGS. MISSING in Guyana is a CARING LEADERSHIP for ALL 6 RACES with ZERO racial strifes.
Are we using the FULL Potential, Capacity and Skills of our Diaspora, Region 11 ? Most will answer NO, due to political affiliations PRACTICE, in place of skills, accomplishments and deliverables. We do need the Best Persons in KEY POSITIONS, for improved outcomes for all. We have the CAPACITY but need the WILL to implement the NEEDED CHANGES.

DEMOCRACY is much more than periodic ELECTIONS. The Cathedral of DEMOCRACY will need JUST and FAIR ACTIONS by a Government, with the need for MAINTENANCE and with Equity, Justice, and Transparency. Need for PAROCHIAL self-serving programs, financial assistance, and decisions to end.
We have NOW, a DAILY DETERIORATING POLARIZED RACIAL SOCIETY with a little over 50% WINNER Governing, Managing and Signing Agreements, as a 100% GOVERNMENT with NO Opposition INPUTS. This is NEVER DEMOCRACY in any system of Government. The urgent Need is for, “ RES NON VERBA”= “ DEEDS NOT WORDS.”
Two Most Glaring Examples, The PPP Government CHOSE the OPPOSITION Representative at the National Resource Fund (NRF), and the PPP Government with their ONE SEAT MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT VOTED for the 1 seat , ANUG Party, to be the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. In practice in Guyana’s history the Deputy Speaker is from the MAIN Opposition Party.
REMINDER: WE THE PEOPLE, must mean ALL GUYANESE, never ONE ruling party. Our aspirational and operational GOAL must be for the ELECTED GOVERNMENT to SERVE ALL GUYANESE with Equity, Transparency and Empathy.

Common sense, since May 26, 1966, we are a DIVIDED NATION, and National Unity/Shared Governance will most definitely improve and facilitate ethnic balance and END “ WINNER TAKE ALL” in the Executive and Government’s Operations.

January 19, 2019. “ A New and United Guyana (ANUG) party was officially launched on Friday at Moray House with founding member and former Speaker of the National Assembly Ralph Ramkarran appealing for a political system of shared governance. According to Ramkarran, Guyana is a politically unstable country. He noted that this stemmed from the one-seat majority that the PPP had while in government and that the current government has.”

The Democratic 47th. Speaker of the House, His Excellency TIP O’NEILL regularly met His Excellency President Ronald Reagan for COCKTAILS. The friendship between Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill exemplifies the archetypes of both a wingman and work pal. The two worked closely together but one was clearly in charge. The two also had each other’s backs when one lost the view of the end goal.
It is overdue for Guyana’s 6 Races to be involved in the Day-to-day MANAGEMENT and DECISION MAKING through the PPP, APNU+AFC, and CIVIL SOCIETY, COMBINED, in place of the last two Governments with 1 seat majority in Parliament, with around 7,000 votes.
With due respect, the current PPP youthful leaders need to research and consult their senior members, with their lived experiences, before many of the top PPP leaders were born, to manage better, with fairness, equity, and transparency.
Guyana does not belong to the PPP, and Guyana does not belong to the APNU+AFC. Guyana belongs to all 6 races.
It is a daily fact, that with 1 seat majority in Parliament with 7,000 more votes, with the PPP Government most are saving is a ONE-PARTY PPP Government, and the OPPOSITION and CIVIL SOCIETY are both SHUT OUT. Common sense, PPP, APNU + AFC and CIVIL SOCIETY, WORKING TOGETHER in the same direction after Discussions, Debate with DATA, then DECISIONS will be a much better alternative, for the transformative infrastructural projects, with valid, credible, and believable, feasibilities studies.
We are now Blessed with an OIL & GAS WEALTH, with the current very heavy INDO GUYANESE INFLUENCES, at an all-time high for wealth maximization opportunities.
Most of the Afro Guyanese in Guyana’s history gained gainful employment in the Civil Service, Police Force and Defence Force, Teachers, and Nurses, which is 5 KEY Supporting positions for the smooth running of Government Operations, Security and Defence Services, Education and Health. ALL these people PAID their PAYE TAXES and NIS Contributions BEFORE they received their monthly salaries, and over the years were the main funding sources for Governmental Operations.
Many are aware that most of the Indo Guyanese businesspersons, OPERATE a CASH and CARRY system, with NO PAYE and NO NIS, and they are the wealthiest citizens. Many Governments are trying with the TIN, Taxpayer Identification System, but am reliably informed that the barest minimum is paid by most businesses, in many ways, to UNDERREPORT income, profits and taxes.
A smart PPP Government and PPP Party, should embrace the National Unity/Shared Governance MODEL, and be an example for other nations with similar ethnic disparities, in Jobs, Wealth creation, Small Business Support; Cooperatives Support; Contracts, Scholarships, Education Support, Top Quality Health, Minimum living wage, and Cash Transfers, et al.
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE NOW, for the ONE-PARTY DOMINATION POLITICS with ONE SEAT Majority in Parliament, TO END, for the Cooperative betterment of ALL Guyanese.
In the current Parliament there are TWO LONGEST SERVING MPs, Hon. Khemraj Ramjattan, Esq. (APNU+AFC) and Hon. Gail Texeira ( PPPC). With respect, these two MPS, should consider back channel OR front channel conversations on National Unity/Shared Governance.
January 2024, Guyana will be represented at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) , with 3F families, friends, and favorites, as Guyana’s Representative, in place of a PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED DIPLOMAT at THIS KEY POSITION. Guyana’s TWO Past UNSC representatives were the late His Excellency Rashleigh Jackson and Dr. Rudy Insanally.
Back channels are saying that in 2024 PROTESTS with PLACARDS will be at the United Nations during the UNSC meeting in New York, which will be a HUGE EMBARRASSMENT to Guyana’s IMAGE on the World Stage. Do hope, wish, and pray that before January 2024, better PPP decisions will be made to reflect involvement of the Opposition and Civil Leaders towards ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE DESTINY. IF NOT, embarrassment ahead for the GUYANA BRAND IMAGE.

At that meeting, Mr. GRANGER PROPOSED to MR. DONALD RAMOTAR, PRESIDENT ELECT, that we should all come together to form a GOVERNMENT of “NATIONAL UNITY,” rather than have a “HUNG PARLIAMENT.” Mr. Ramotar, to his credit DID NOT REJECT THE IDEA OUTRIGHTLY, but instead, responded that it would be difficult at that late stage to enter such a Government, because his party the PPP, neither campaigned for, NOR SOUGHT and OBTAINED a MANDATE for a NATIONAL UNITY Government. The book, “Forbes Burnham: National Reconciliation and National Unity 1984-1985”, Halim Majeed recounts that Halim and Elvin McDavid were instructed by LFSB to spare no effort for the unity meetings for power sharing to continue and be successful, with good outcomes for a united Guyana.
National Democratic Institute (NDI) sponsored a STUDY MISSION to Belfast, IRELAND with 10 persons, to the best of my back-channel information. As His Excellency Desmond Hoyte and Her Excellency Janet Jagan could not see EYE TO EYE on ANYTHING. Age-old suspicions and dislikes triumphed. NDI and others did all they could.”

It has not only worked but brought prosperity to those with sufficient insight and wisdom to make it work. Northern Ireland is 1 of 3 Best for “ shared governance” between Catholics and Protestants, and Sri Lanka and Fiji.
Over half the population, do believe that NATIONAL UNITY/SHARED GOVERNANCE will be a start to HEAL the RACIAL DIVISIONS in Guyana and will be an EXCELLENT to Trust, Confidence and Healings.
NATIONAL UNITY/SHARED GOVERNANCE will be good for Guyana, in place of the POLITICAL PARTISANSHIP, with TWO TERM Limits for Ministers and Members of Parliaments as applicable to the President.
In Political Leadership at Nations or Businesses or Social Organizations, the need is for strategic long-term thinking and planning with Servant Leadership Principles, Practices, and Ethics for THE GOAL to be, for the GREATER GOOD FOR ALL. Experienced, skilled, and available businesspersons and civil society persons, should be encouraged to serve in Government, and on the over 125 Commissions and Boards, with at least ONE OPPOSITION and ONE CIVIL SOCIETY, REPRESENTATIVE on each Commission and Board.
Guyana is now in its 58th Year of Independence and a solution for the racial marginalization, is National Unity/Shared Governance. In Governments as in our lives, our journey is short, and it is time for ALL Leaders to remember that Most Guyanese are POOR after 57 years of Independence, and ALL Governments MUST MAKE PEOPLE their PRIORITY in place of themselves, Families, Friends, and Favorites.
Guyana can become a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE, which is not impossible or rocket science. What is needed is the collective cooperative inclusivity of ALL SIX RACES, coupled with the skills, resources and expertise of the Diaspora, for total mobilization.
With respect our past 57 years is empirical evidence of the RESULTS of NOT WORKING TOGETHER, and the continuing struggle of half the population to prosper and survive, when the other party is in political power in Government, with the recent, hung parliament and a one seat majority in Parliament.
The OIL revenues’ blessings are not being managed with fairness to all, for peoples improved quality of life, education, health, jobs, and cash transfers to the population, whilst the 1% are enjoying the major benefits of OIL, Contracts and as Construction Companies’ Owners, via 3Fs, families, friends, and favorites.
We do know both major parties in Guyana’s history have had external support to be in Government, and each of the two parties, can say, they will never bend, never bow, and never stoop, and that they will speak, write, and advocate for their rights. SO, WHEN WILL THIS END ? All Guyanese do deserve the Opportunity to be successful in their Homeland. PRAYERS are GOOD but the need for LEADERSHIP ACTION for improvement is NOW.

Under the Coalition Government an Opposition Person was seated at ALL Commissions and Boards. Am reliably informed since the PPP Government in August 2020 NO LETTERS WERE RECEIVED for OPPOSITION NOMINEES to sit in over 100 STATE BOARDS. This is NOW a Standard Operating Practice (SOP) for a ONE-PARTY PPP AUTOCRATIC STATE, with 1 seat, 7,000 votes majority,
Global Confidence in Guyana Government’s STABILITY for the immediate and long term are extremely critical, for Guyana, with massive economic, social and infrastructural development, with the USD Billions.
